7-15-20   THOUGHTS

Yesterday we tried to see THE BIG PICTURE.  I’d like to continue that idea from the prophetic side.   John the Baptist is the context, his father Zacharias who is inspired by the Holy Spirit is the speaker... the subject is the coming Christ!

Luke 1:72-79  To show mercy toward our fathers, And to remember His holy covenant, 73  The oath which He swore to Abraham our father, 74  To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear, 75  In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days. 76  "And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; For you will go on BEFORE THE LORD TO PREPARE HIS WAYS; 77  To give to His people the knowledge of salvation By the forgiveness of their sins, 78  Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which the Sunrise from on high will visit us, 79  TO SHINE UPON THOSE WHO SIT IN DARKNESS AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH, To guide our feet into the way of peace."

This is a different BIG PICTURE of the salvation of man.  It has time, and space and a person [Christ]  in mind.  It has US in mind!

There is still a different picture of the eternal wisdom of God in Christ Jesus, and it takes on an eternal view that includes the Church as we show all creation the rightness and beauty of God’s great plan!

Eph 3:8-12   To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,  9  and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; 10  so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. 11  This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12  in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.

Having absorbed these words this morning, I don’t feel so little right now!

My Prayer:
Our Awesome God who loves us eternally, praise be unto your name. We exalt you to the highest place.  Help us to see your eternal wisdom in saving your creation.  Help us to know the love and peace that only comes from you Oh God.  Thank you for Jesus.
We pray always in His name.           Amen
